=================================================================
PLAYER PRE-REGISTRATION :
=================================================================
We will be assessing a penalty for anyone not Pre-Reg'ing.
We do not demand payment upfront, and thankfully you, the players, have been very good at not abusing this.
However, we have had some issues with people showing up at the door. While this is very good from the outlook of players
playing our game - it really causes us hardship in the realm of planning housing, food counts for the camp, and a lot of last minute
paperwork on Friday Night - when we are really trying to get things off the ground for the rest of the players - whom pre-reg'd.
PRE-REG WILL CLOSE AS OF 6 p.m. ON THE SUNDAY EVENING PRIOR TO AN EVENT :
This gives a little extra leeway in prepping the check-in envelopes.
So -
If you do not pre-reg, you will pay the "at-the-door" event fee of $100.
For the vast majority of players, this means nothing.
<<<< This fee is waived in the case of a new player. >>>>
It is simply an effort to encourage players to pre-reg.
Not pre-reg'ing places extra strain on our staff, and now it has a price.

NEW CUT OFF DATES FOR RESEARCH & UPDATE !!!
===========================================================
This season, to give a little more leeway in preparing for events,
I am setting the cut-off date for Event Research, and Character Updating
to two weeks prior to an event. I know that this will make the window between the
first and second events a little tight - but I really can use the lead time for research processing.
I am also advancing the Character Update deadline by the same time factor -
as it is asking a lot of Linda to process updates while she is trying to co-ord with Dru for
check-in & planning housing.
Remember - you can do character update at the Isles Bardic Nights - the bardic night
the month before an event. They are always announced, and are a good chance to come
out and gain 5 XP (only if you are in your character costume !!!) & update your skills.

PRE-EVENT LOGISTICS - A new plan ...
=============================================================
If players know they are going to be making an item, or even if you know you are
planning to refine a bunch of stuff for a very specific goal - please e-mail your plan & 'stuff list'
to Scott. That way he can try to have some tags pre-printed for people, and we can try to
ease the crunch at logistics.

NPC PRE-REGISTRATION
=======================================================
If an NPC wishes to be elligable for the $20 stipend, they MUST pre-reg.
They also (as it is now) need to be on site for the entire event, and contribute
in some way to clean-up (help with Monster Camp, Module Building, etc.).
We are setting a limit, currently at 15, for the number of NPC's that we can support at an event.
The first 15 who pre-reg will be elligable for the stipend, and willhave thier food costs covered at the tavern. Anyone who comes to NPC after the pre-reg 15, will not have thier food cost covered.
They will have to either use Kitchen Cash with YOC, or pay us to add them to the food plan.
I wish we could afford to take anyone who wants to NPC for us, but the truth is - we can't. The last event, with 24 NPC's, we laid out $600 in NPC food. Tack on the potential cost of the stipend, and we count oursevles lucky that most of the NPC's did not opt to take the $20. We absolutely MUST control our NPC expenses, and as such we cannot simply accept everyone who decides to just show up.
So, if you wish to NPC - and we really, honestly, sincerely, desperately !, want to have a good number of NPC's at our events, please help us out by pre-registering. Also remember that regular NPC's, who pre-reg so we know they are coming, will be given first chance at the recurring rolepaying parts within the story.
We hope to see you at our next event, and on behalf of the other Staff and the players of The Isles / Asylum - we thank you for NPC'ing !!!
-Zhinn / Chris
General Manager, The Isles / Asylum.
OOPS ! Also, by the way - to register to NPC, please contact us at NPCPreReg@theisles.org===================================================
Effective with the first event of 2008, there will be a $10 per person fee to all players who stay in a cabin that is not left clean.
We don't have a big problem with this, but last event we did have a little issue. Perhaps it was just from some players not knowing
where the dumpster is ... But anyways - again this is something many other games do, and we are going to be going this route as well.
Again : Any cabin not left clean will result in a $10 fee to all players 'registered' to stay in that cabin. Does not matter if you stayed
somewhere else - if you name is on the housing list, that's that.
The fee must be paid before you attend any future events.
====================================================
We've revised our player benefits for sponsoring new players.
<NEW> SPONSORING NEW PLAYERS INTO THE ISLES <NEW>
A current player who sponsors a new player into our campaign will get an XP bonus to thier character.
The system we had was rather cumbersome, so we are ammending it 2009.
If you sponsor a new player, you will recieve a bonus of 5XP at the end of the event they attend.
(you must note this bonus in your PEL to get credit, we will not have a record of it unless you submit your PEL ! )
A player may get as many 5 XP bonuses as they get new players to come. There used to be one XP benefit per event.
However, the logistics of tracking the bonus XP from event to event has not worked very well.
So, the trade off is - get XP for multiple newbies - but only get it once.
A player may designate a friend to get the 5 XP, instead of taking it themselves. Again, just note who is getting the
5XP reward, if you are not claiming it yourself. (see how important a PEL is ! )
================================================
BEING A NEW PLAYER, SPONSORED BY A CURRENT PLAYER
Any new player who is sponsored by a current Isles Player,
will get a free upgrade from Townsperson to Adventurer for thier
first event. This will save them $20, and allow them to fully participate
in The Isles for thier first game experience.
When you pre-reg, let us know who is your sponsor and we'll upgrade your event status. =================================================
ISLES FORTUNE POINTS (IFP)
=================================================
Players who pre-register help us out a great deal. We have to give the camp PC and NPC counts for food buying prior to the events.
It makes extra work for all involved when our numbers spike on Friday nights - people have to make special runs for supplies, we try to
adjust plot plans to accomodate more people, and our calculations for all of the production 'seeding' go right out the window.
SO ! We have a new idea to reward those who pre-reg.
The Isles Fortune Point System.
If you pre-register for an event, no later than the Sunday Night prior to the event, you will be credited with 1 IFP.
You may use the IFP's in one of the following ways :
Spend 2 IFP's : You get a random pull from a bag containing one of each Enchantment Effect. You will be given a phys-rep for the item, and it is considered that you found / traded / aquired the item between events. You may even submit a quick note to plot about how you came across it - and perhaps we'll use it as a plot device later on ...
Spend 3 IFP's : You get a random pull from the bag as listed above, AND We will reset the duration of any one game item that you have. You love that Master Crafted Pistol you have, but realize it is slowly rusting ??? This could be the thing that fixes it up, good as new ...
Spend 4 IFP's : You get the random pull from the bag as listed above, and we will add in one special random pick to the bag. The added pick will be the chance to make a specific request of plot. Looking for that answer that's been eluding you ? Seeking to aquire something special ?? This could be your big chance.
If you are lucky enough to make this random pull, the plot committee will work with you to try and arrange in-game means for you to achieve your desired goal. Depending upon your request of course, but we'll do our best to reward your good fortune as best we can.
=================================================
It is our hope that this little reward system will induce more people to pre-reg for events. It really does help us out a great deal, and we would like to do a little something for those of you who help us out.
