UPDATE NOTES

We have had some issues with players backed up waiting for
character update on Friday Night. This gets compounded when
any new players come in, and need to make characters.

SO : From now on, the last chance for any character update
will be the Sunday Night 2 weeks prior to an event. After that time, you will
<not> be able to update, and will have to play the event with your
character 'as is.' Please help us out and update your character early !

Please send any updates (ie: new skills that you want to obtain etc) or character questions to:

isles.character.updates@gmail.com

I will most likely be doing these at night, and will email each person upon the completion of their update.

Thanks!

Linda

PS : The Bardic Night before each event is a great chance to update -
and to gain the extra 5 XP for showing up in costume and promo'ing The Isles.

Edited Note : I completely back up Linda on this call. Beleive it or not,
she and Dru both pay full price to come to the events. On top of
dealing with check-in and character stuff. So, do them a favor please,
and do your best to arrive on time & update your character early !
They'll both thank you in-game !!!!!

LOGISTICS NOTES

As per a discussion with Scott,
we are going to be instituting a couple of things to try and smooth logistics out a little more :

Pre-Event Production : If you know you are going to make something, or if you are even "pretty sure" you
are going to make something - let Scott know ahead of time. He can make sure to have a tag pre-printed
with the specifics of whatever you are making. This saves time in line - all he needs is to get materials from you,
and you get your tag and are out the door.

Send Pre-Event Production Requests to : Plot@theisles.org and make sure to put "Pre-Event Production" in the subject line.

During the Event - use the production request forms that Scott has at logistics.
If Scott has a few minutes where no one is in logistics, he takes those forms and pre-prints the tags requested.
Again, any time shaved off your visit to logistics is more time you have IG, and we are all in favor of that !

Lastly : There will be a timer on the desk in logistics.

Probably a 15 minute timer, when someone sits down - Scott starts the timer. When it goes off, your session is over.
You are welcome to get back in line, or if no one is waiting - you may continue.

The big point here is to try and keep the line moving. Some folks only have a few quick things to do, and will be in
and out in less than the time limit. Others who do a lot of production are advised to have everything in order so as
to make the most of your time. We are sorry about this, but we have become aware of the frustration of some folks
who have very modest requests in logistics, but end up being in line for a long time.

We're doing our best to try and keep things moving -
and, last event aside, I think We have been making progress in this area.

Scott also wishes to make this clear : If all you are doing is dropping off SU to be recorded in your bank,
he asks that you just go in and let him know. He will record deposits right away - they take only a minute to do.
(those who are 'under the timer' will be allowed an extra minute or two when the timer ends, so it will all be fair !)

This is the end of the updated logistics notes for 2009.

========================================================================

We have a little issue in regards to Logistics.

Many players wait until Sunday to do last minute refining,
so as to be able to use any left over Karma points.

Unfortunately, this is ending up with huge lines at Logistics at the
end of game - which means that poor Scott is unable to begin
breaking down logistics until much later than he should be.

So :

Effective immeadiately, we will be having "Operating Hours" for Nicodemus and the Logistics Area.

In general, Logistics will open at 10am in the morning, and close at 12am / midnight / early morning.

Logistics will be closed from roughly 5pm to 7pm on Saturday Night. This gives Scott a little 'down-time' around dinner.

Logistics will be closed between 12am and 10am, unless Scott decides to open the doors earlier.

Logistics will close at 11am on Sunday. At that time, Scott will process the person whom he is working with, and that will be the last one.
He will, at his discretion, take SU into the bank up until Noontime - but all <tag printing> will be ending around 11am on Sunday.

As always, these hours may change if Scott decided to open earlier or close later.
However, we really do not have a right to expect him to be open 24/7 for our events. Nor should we.

........................................

Of all the staff, Scott has one of the most demanding & least forgiving
jobs in The Isles. He is trapped behind the computer virtually all weekend.
We are trying to give him a little down time, and allow him to get a little sleep.

Players need to plan to get their production matters done in a timely fashion,
and not wait until noontime on Sunday. Scott has said that he will make all
effort to be open as soon as he is done with breakfast on Sunday.

We thank you, the players, for your help and understanding with this.

Isles Event Clean Up XP / Chore List

In an effort to help streamline our clean up process on Sunday of our event weekends, we are going to be starting a Chore List.
Linda Hodge will be the controller of the list, as she will be the one recording your efforts for XP.
When your chore is done, you must check with Linda – who will make sure everything is done properly – to get credit.

Each Chore Slot is worth 3XP, and there is a bonus of 2XP for staying to the end to help with the packing of the storage locker in the barn.

People may sign up for a second chore, and will be given the 2XP for staying until the end – but they may leave anytime after the chores they signed up for are signed off as completed.

You may not sign up for a second chore until the first one you signed up for is signed off on.

If there is something you are willing to commit to do on a regular basis, you may contact Linda about having her put you on the list ahead of time.
Only do this if you are absolutely sure you will complete the chore.
