I've heard that smearing antipersperant (not deoderant) on your face can help mitigate the sweat issues...

Lyonshel's Snake Mask (http://www.lyonshel.com/indexframe.shtml) isn't too far off from a turtle, but you want to be really careful of masks that go above and below your jaw, they are impossible to eat in.

If you find a picture of a turtle's face that you like, I would be happy to paint your face before game. Acrylic paints go over pancake make-up just fine, I used to paint my half-dragon's scales on in silver paint once I put the black on my face.

Well I'd love that, but I'm not the kind of person who really enjoys relying on other people. :-/ However, I'm willing to give it a shot in June, you can even just be artistic and just make me look like any turtle. Then I'll make the final decision about weather or not to buy a prostetic. My problem really is that I'm not "crafty" at all, which is kind of hindering as a LARPer. I'm really into the game and stuff but really bad at stuff like costuming and makeup :-(.

If it makes you feel any better I depend on Elizabeth/others to do my hair/ribbons every morning, and since my dress has been breaking down I need people to pin me, too ^^;; So I'm uber-dependent. It's okay!

I can attest to acrylic its a great medium. Having played a Dark elf for 7ish years as a dark elf, it was made black I gave it a shot. Nothing melts faster in the shower (with a bit of scrubbing to get the spray sealer off) then Acrylic paint. Which when you want to get it off...is a great thing. No stained skin, no nothing. Its gone and back to your normal face.

I loved it.

Haruko, what is falling apart on your dress? Is it something that can be fixed with a sewing machine at say perhaps Bardic next week?

And every event I hope to soak up something from the many people we are surrounded by who are artistic, however they are greedy with it, and don't share, but now that I have constructed The Machine (*dundundun*), I will be able to draw it away from them all. Mwahahahaha
