There is a discussion on another Accelerant game's OOG board about Gaze attacks that I have been following:

http://www.losteidolons.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=168&p=1665#p1665

Since the Accellerant system is supposed to be the same from game to game, I agree with the poster that the question needs to be answered.

Question: is actual eye contact needed for a full three seconds for a gaze attack to affect the target?

For what it is worth,

I read the rule as "Gaze : Someone who has met your gaze for a full three seconds calls out or whispers
"By my gaze" followed by an effect. A vampire might whisper "By my gaze - Paralyze by Will."
Other creatures might cause fear or other effects."

I take "met your gaze" as meaning that you need to have eye contact for 3 seconds.

Now, I do not take that to mean a concentrated, eye locking, drilling-thru-the-other-person's-head gaze ...

But, if I am talking with you and we are face to face looking at each other,
then after 3 seconds I could then call a gaze effect ...

This comes under some of the "honor system" of the rules,
which seems like it ought to be easy and simple - but often times is anything but ...
