In the Production section it lists a Tent (10 Fiber/5 Dye).

That sounds like a big tent.

How many people will that hold comfortably?

See my post in the creative thread about what to do with a tent-sized ritual cloth.

All kidding aside, I really need to know how many people a "Tent" can house. It's for my refugee calculations.

Okay.

So what's your opinion, then? I think it could hold five comfortably and perhaps up to ten in a tight fit.

What are your thoughts?

Average tents are either 2 man (classic a frame), 4-6 or big ass tents that probably fit 20. I'm guessing 4-6 however.

Well 5 fiber is a cape, so double that. Honestly two capes or cloaks doesn't really sound like a big tent to me. Maybe like 4 people in a pinch. Just imagine I took my cloak and suspended it across two branches and then took your cloak and did the same. I'm sure 6 could sleep in that size but there might be 7 in about 9 months.

That's funny! Perhaps better written as:

lim (kitten+Kazimir)^tent =
2→∞

LOL...

Ah, the power of tent...

Y'Know I went to a psychiatrist once because I was having troubling dreams...

"Sometimes I dream I am a wigwam then a teepee then a wigwam then a teepee over and over again, doc," I said.

"Oh, I know what your problem is! You're too tense!"

Heheh... get it? "Two tents?"

OY!

So, I think I'm gonna go with 5 for the capacity of a Tent....

Both a cloak for Haruko and a cloak that could comfortably fit and warm Fandayen would have the same number of Units of Fiber contained within. Therefore, I believe that there is significant 'wiggle room' to stretch the limits of how many Units of Fiber are being used based on the use of the item being created.

Two units of copper can be used to make 1 cup or 1000' of wire... It all depends on the way the material is used.

Well, also remember that the fiber used in a piece of clothing is much different than the fiber used in a shelter. Soft, comfortable fibers pulled from a "Unit if Fiber" may only make up a small percentage of "usable" fiber for clothing while all of the fibers of a "Unit of Fiber" can be used for a tent, because no one cares if the walls of the shelter are scratchy-itchy, just that they keep the elements somewhat at bey.

It is not included in the recipe for "Tent" itself but I've been thinking that judicious use of Wax might be in order...

And could there be a Hunter version of Fiber based on fur or wool and such? I think there should be an overlap there.

Thoughts?

Well I was merely going on the fact that your opening post said:

So we originally began the discussion with the precedence that the amount of materials = size.

But I see your point.
